Advanced Control Systems

This course is run as a single five day seminar.
It provides further knowledge on control systems used in industry.
The content is divided between theory and practical laboratory experiments.
Ideal for students with an Electrical background.
(Please bring a calculator. Lunch is provided).

Course Content:

Revision of closed loop PID Control
Cascade Control Lab
Ratio Control Lab
Feedforward Control and Lab
Adaptive Gain Control

Foundation Fieldbus incorporating equipment from Fisher Rosemount (advantages and features including software)
DeviceNet incorporating equipment from ODVA (NZ) members
Implementation of PID control on Allen Bradley PLCs
SCADA software implementation using Tait Control Systems

Previous Study:

Students should have previously completed our Basic Control & Instrumentation two week short course and Introductory PLC course or similar.
