This course is run as a one day seminar.
The course is run in conjunction with
the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association New Zealand Australia User Group
Inc (ODVA).
The purpose of the course is to give
the student the ability to successfully install a DeviceNet products and
recognise the components which are used in the installation.
Study is divided between theory and
practical exercises which form an essential feature of this course.
Ideal for students with an Electrical
background.

Introduction to ODVA

Overview of bus structures.

DeviceNet features and functionality.

Available products for DeviceNet

Data link layer for CAN and DeviceNet

Physical layer and media for DeviceNet

Where DeviceNet fits in versus other bus stuctures.

DeviceNet cabling types specifications

Types of connection methods and end connections

Location and placement of cables. Topologies.

Power supplies, sizing location in bus structure,and load distribution.

Planning cable route,

Distances and communications rates.

Calculation of power supply size

Planning the cabling system.

Installation of a simple main loop and nodes

Location of faults on the network

Multichoice test
