Control ’98 - BIGGER AND BETTER

This year’s process control showcase - Control ‘98 - promises to outstrip its predecessors in size and variety, with more than half the 70 stands available already reserved.

The exposition will be held at Auckland’s Ellerslie Convention Centre on November 18 and 19. Last year’s event in Rotorua comprised 52 exhibitors. By early January, 40 organisations had confirmed a spot at this year’s event.

The Ellerslie convention centre is adjacent to Auckland’s Southern Motorway and approximately 20 minutes from the airport.

The exposition’s theme - Global Capabilities - Local Applications - aims to underscore New Zealand’s involvement (despite geographic remoteness) in international process control developments. The organisers say the exposition will show that the local industry has access to the latest technology, that it can be applied directly, or, if necessary adapted for local conditions.

Control ‘98 also moves away from traditional academic conference sessions, and will instead offer exhibitors a ‘product driven’ approach. The convention centre, for example, has numerous corporate boxes that are available to contracted exhibitors for training, product launches and technical workshops. The rooms hold 20 people in
theatre style seating and are available for half or full days.
