Services

As in previous years, the exhibition services will be provided by Peek Display Corporation and Empire Electrical Services.  Peeks will be supplying their ‘Front-runner’ Velcro recipient walling systems along with ‘Strata’ fascia panels and company nameplates.  While Empire Electrical will provide lighting affixed to the ‘Strata’ fascia framing and 10 amp, 2.3kW, single phase four way power outlets to each stand. Lighting on the first floor will be of neon fluorescent tubes as lower ceilings on this level tends to trap any heat build up from spot and flood lamps, while the ground floor stands will be fitted with 2 x 150w spot lamps for each 9m2.  The Ellerslie Convention Centre is carpeted throughout providing a high quality surrounding for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Rates

Our display rates for 1998 have been held as they were for the Lakeside Convention Centre in 1996, that is just $175.00 per square metre plus GST. This rate compares particularly favourably with other engineering based events as space is fully serviced at this price, with the added advantage of providing a dedicated visitor throughput.

Promotions

For the 1998 exhibition the IMC will be casting a wider promotional net to gain the interest of prospective visitors to CONTROL 98.  Todate confirmation of increased support has been made by What's New in Process Engineering, New Zealand Electronics Today and of course Automation and Control Magazines.  Additionally, your committee has made approaches to NZ Engineering News, Energy Wise Magazine and Electrical Focus seeking support in promotion of the event.  In latter newsletters we will outline the full advertising schedule and detail advertising opportunities that publishers will be offering exhibitors at CONTROL 98.

Visitor database

As with previous Control events, the IMC will be substantiating their claim for visitor throughput by allowing access to the visitor database after the event.  As in previous year this will be available on 3.5”PC formatted diskette in ASCII, Word 6 and Access database form and will consist of visitor name, job title, company, and suburb.

Educational activity

CONTROL 98 moves away from traditional academic conference sessions to offer exhibitors a ‘Product Driven’ approach.  The Ellerslie Convention Centre has numerous corporate boxes that we will be making available to contracted exhibitors only, for in-house training, product launches, technical workshops and the like.  The rooms would hold a maximum of twenty people in theatre style seating and are available by the half or full day. On site caterers are able to provided morning and afternoon teas, working lunches or afternoon drinks if required.  The hire rate is $350 plus GST for the full day or $200 plus GST for a half day.  Exhibitors wishing to book the corporate boxes should contact the organiser as soon as practical.

Social functions

While nothing is yet set in concrete, the aim is to have some form of social function on the first night of CONTROL 98.  Suggestions to date range from a late night trade show opening with a cocktail function through to a more formal dinner with staff and customers being invited to attend.  We'll update you on these activities as plans develop.

Institute of Measurement and Control (Inc.)

The IMC, will during the course of CONTROL 98, be staging their Annual General Meeting.  All first time exhibitors are reminded that membership to the IMC is included within your stand display costs for the first year of participation.  The AGM will provide you with a better insight as to the workings of the IMC and its activities at branch level. You are encouraged to participate.
