YOUR
INDUSTRY EVENT
The New Zealand Institute of Measurement and Control once again presents you with a unique opportunity to participate in the fifth exhibition and conference in the current CONTROL series of events. CONTROL 2001 is to be staged at the Ellerslie Convention Centre on the 14th and 15th of November next year. The Centre is located right next to Auckland's Southern Motorway and there are plenty of hotels/motels within walking distance. Ample parking for both visitors and exhibitors exists on site.
MEET YOUR MARKET IN THE ONE LOCATION
This is your bi-ennial opportunity to meet your market in one convenient location. Close to the motorway and an international class hotel seconds from the main gate, the Ellerslie Convention Centre has on previous occasions proven to be the ideal venue, offering spacious parking facilities, a well- presented exhibition area, quality catering services plus a host of other advantages.
AFFORDABLE RATES
This dedicated trade event compares more than favourably with those events claiming to attract a similar audience. The cost for stands on the ground floor is $205.00 per square metre while those on the first floor are available at the discounted rate of $185.00 per square metre, both figures exclusive of GST. Add to this the fact that the Institute always backs up its' claim for visitor numbers by allowing exhibitors access to the visitor database after the event.
ATTRACTIVE FLOOR PLAN
Based on active input from exhibitors involved previous events at Ellerslie, the floor plan once again provides for a mazed layout enticing trade visitors to view every stand before leaving. The main point of entry (along with the computerised registration system), will be located on the first floor foyer. A new feature of this event will be coffee shop and bar facilities on the ground floor of the exhibition, enabling exhibitors to stay on the floor of the show during busy periods.
EXHIBITION DINNER AND AWARDS EVENING
Popularised over the last few years, the first night of the exhibition will once again feature a top-notch dinner function with some serious and not-so-serious awards to be presented. Plans for CONTROL 2001 include the introduction of a new MC/after-dinner speaker who we are confident will please all.

It is anticipated that this year's expo will be supported by the likes of What's New in Process Engineering, What's New in Waste Management, What's New in Hydraulics & Pneumatics, What's New in Food Processing, Hi-Tech, New Zealand Electronics Today and of course the Institutes own official news organ, Automation and Control Magazine. Additional support will be sought from NZ Engineering News, Energy Wise Magazine and Electrical Focus magazines. In later newsletters we will outline the full advertising schedule and detail advertising opportunities that publishers will be offering exhibitors at CONTROL 01.
VISITOR DATABASE
As with all previous Control events, the IMC will be substantiating their claim for visitor throughput by allowing access to the visitor database after the event. This will be made available on 3.5" PC formatted diskette in ASCII, Word 6 and Access database format and will consist of visitor name, job title, company, and suburb. Exhibitors, however, are encouraged to employ some form of visitor registration on their stands to ascertain full mailing addresses and contact phone numbers.
FORUMS AND WORKSHOPS
The format for CONTROL 2001 is to hold three forums covering Technology in Industry, Product Technology and Product Workshops.
Themes will include Internet Technology, Wireless Application and Virtual SCADA; e-manufacture, Enterprise Asset Management, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems; Bus Applications; and Improvements in Process Control.
For those who might wish to have a paper considered, contact the secretary by e-mail at secretary@clear.net.nz. The forums and workshops will be staged concurrently with CONTROL 01 with delegates being given ample opportunity to visit exhibits.
