Discount Airfares
Both Air New Zealand and Ansett New Zealand are offering discounted airfares. The Ansett discount may be accessed by two means:

Booking directly with Ansett New Zealand Reservations and quoting MC 12342.
Contacting you local TANZ bonded agent and asking them to call Ansett New Zealand and quote MC 12342. Once booked with the airline your agent can then book your conference travel.

Air New Zealand National and Link offers various levels of travel discount up to 55%. The earlier you make bookings, the greater the availability of discounted flights. Discounts are not available if flying between 7.00am and 9.00am and 4.30pm and 7.00pm Monday to Friday.
All flights can be booked through your local travel agent or telephone 0800 737 000 for direct Air New Zealand bookings.

Accommodation

The accommodation of choice is the Ellerslie Gateway Motor Inn which is directly opposite the main entrance to the Ellerslie Convention Centre. Numerous rooms are held and a special exhibition rate of $95.00 for a twin/double occupancy or $88.00 for a single room. Your hosts, Murray and Brenda Douglas, will arrange the next best and closest alternative accommodation in the event that they become fully booked.

The Ellerslie Gateway Motor Inn has Carelli’s Bar and Grill on premises, arguably serving the best steaks in Auckland.

Fieldbus Workshop

The Institute of Measurement and Control, in conjunction with the Open Devicenet Vendors Association, are staging the inaugural Fieldbus Workshop. Speakers will include John Pittman, Fieldbus Foundation President from America and Graeme Meyer, the O.D.V.A. facilitator. Topics that will be covered include an update on fieldbus activity in New Zealand, presentations from fieldbus support groups including the Fieldbus Foundation, Open Devicenet Vendors Association and interconnected, multi-vendor hardware and software with demonstrations of physical media components available in New Zealand. There is no charge for attending these workshops but registration is a pre-requisite. Please register with the IMC at (09) 634-1391 to confirm your attendance.

IMC Dinner An IMC are holding a dinner at the Ellerslie Convention Centre on the evening of the 18th. The guest speaker will be Brett Rutledge who, along with his many friends, promises to add some entertainment to the evening. Added to this is a light hearted awards ceremony that considers the more notable achievements of those in instrumentation, measurement and control.

IMC Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Measurement and Control (Inc) will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday the 18th November at the Ellerslie Convention Centre. All members are welcome.
